4-Day Morocco Tour Itinerary from Marrakech

DAY 1: Marrakech – Ait Ben Haddou – Ouarzazate – Dades Valley

Departure at 7:00 AM from Marrakech heading to the Dades Valley, crossing the Tizi n’Tichka Pass at 2,260 meters in the High Atlas Mountains. Along the way, you will enjoy spectacular landscapes and the beauty of Berber villages. We will visit the famous Ait Ben Haddou Kasbah, the largest in Morocco and a UNESCO World Heritage site, which has been the setting for over 20 international films. Lunch will be served at the kasbah before continuing to the Dades Valley via Ouarzazate, known as the Hollywood of Africa. We will travel along the “Route of a Thousand Kasbahs” until reaching the Dades Valley and Gorges, where we will spend the first night in a hotel.

DAY 2: Dades Valley – Todra Gorges – Merzouga Dunes

After breakfast at the riad, we explore the valley to see the rock formations known as the Monkey Fingers. From the Dades Valley, we head to Tinghir and the Todra Valley, enjoying panoramic views of the ancient Berber adobe villages. Upon reaching the gorges, we walk beneath impressive 300-meter red cliffs, a popular spot for climbers. We then continue to Erfoud and Rissani for lunch before heading to the village of Merzouga, where the camels await. We begin a camel trek into the sea of dunes of Erg Chebbi, guided by an experienced camel handler. After about an hour and a half, we reach the highest dunes in Morocco to witness one of the most stunning sunsets. Afterwards, we proceed to the desert camp for dinner, enjoy drum music around the fire, and spend the night in traditional Berber tents.

DAY 3: Merzouga Dunes – Ifrane – Fez

At sunrise, we will wake you to watch the sunrise, followed by a gentle camel ride back to Merzouga, enjoying the ever-changing beauty of the Erg Chebbi dunes. After breakfast and a shower at the guesthouse, we will take a taxi transfer toward Fez. Lunch will be in Midelt, with a stop in Azrou, a Berber village in the Middle Atlas where you can see Barbary monkeys in the cedar forest. We then continue to Ifrane, known as the “Switzerland of Morocco” or the French-style town, arriving in Fez around 5:00 PM. Upon arrival, one of our team members will welcome you and transfer you to your hotel.

DAY 4: Guided Tour in Fez – Chefchaouen

Today, we will take a walking tour with a local guide to explore Fez and discover its main attractions in the oldest medina in the world. After lunch, we will continue the journey to Chefchaouen, where our 4-day shared tour from Marrakech to Chefchaouen concludes.
