Summary

16 Days Morocco Discovery Tour from Casablanca

This private 5-day tour departs from Fes and takes us through the Atlas Mountains, with stops in Ifrane to explore the cedar forest and see the Barbary monkeys. We continue through the Tiz Ntalghamt Pass and the Ziz Gorge to Midelt, then on to Merzouga, where we will spend the night in a local riad.

The next day, we explore the Erg Chebbi dunes, visit the village of Khamlia to enjoy Gnawa music, and have a traditional lunch in Rissani, followed by a camel ride at sunset and an overnight stay in a desert camp with a typical dinner and Berber music.

On the third day, we head to the Todra and Dades Gorges, visiting Berber villages and staying overnight in a local hotel.

DAY 1: Fez – Midelt – Rissani – Merzouga

The private tour begins with a journey to the Atlas Mountains, making a stop in the town of Ifrane to explore the famous cedar forest, home to Barbary monkeys. We continue through the Tiz Ntalghamt mountain pass and the Ziz Gorge, where you can take photos and enjoy local mint tea, until reaching Midelt. Finally, we proceed to Merzouga for dinner and an overnight stay in a traditional riad.

Day 2: Merzouga – Desert Excursion and Camel Ride

Today we will explore the desert region around the Erg Chebbi dunes. You will have the opportunity to learn about the nomads’ way of life and admire the striking desert landscapes. We will visit the village of Khamlia to enjoy Gnawa music and have a traditional Berber pizza lunch in the historic town of Rissani. In the afternoon, we will take a camel ride to watch the sunset over the dunes and spend the night in a desert camp, with a traditional dinner, mint tea, and Berber music around the campfire under the stars and crescent moon.

Day 3: Merzouga – Dades Gorges

We will wake up and head to a local hotel to freshen up and enjoy breakfast before continuing towards Ouarzazate. Along the way, we will visit Berber villages near the Todra and Dades Gorges. In the Dades Gorges, we will stop at a hotel for an overnight stay with dinner included.

DAY 4: Dades – Ouarzazate – Marrakech

After breakfast, we continue towards Ouarzazate along the Thousand Kasbahs Road, stopping in Kalaat Mgouna, the heart of the Valley of Roses, famous for its annual festival. We then proceed to the Ksar of Ait Ben Haddou, a UNESCO World Heritage site and filming location for movies such as Lawrence of Arabia, Gladiator, and the series Game of Thrones. We cross the Tizi-n-Tichka mountain pass to Marrakech, where we will spend the night in a local hotel.

Dia 5: Marrakech – Tour guiado

This day is dedicated to exploring Marrakech. We will visit its main attractions, including Jemma el Fna Square, the Koutoubia Mosque, the souks, the Royal Palace, and several museums. We will also explore the modern district of Gueliz, including the Menara and Majorelle Gardens, concluding the tour at your hotel or the airport.
