Itinerary: 4 Days Tour in Morocco from Marrakech

Day 1: Marrakech – High Atlas Mountains – Ounila Valley – Kasbah of Ait Ben Haddou – Ouarzazate

The 4-day desert tour begins with an early pickup from the airport or your accommodation in Marrakech. Then, we drive through the fascinating High Atlas Mountains and the Tizi-N-Tichka Pass, with stops to enjoy panoramic views of the stunning landscapes.

Next, we visit the famous Kasbah of Ait Ben Haddou, a fortified village recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage site. The Kasbah has appeared in many films, including Gladiator, Alexander, The Mummy, and in TV series such as Game of Thrones. Afterwards, we head to “The Gateway to the Desert,” Ouarzazate. Dinner and overnight stay at a hotel.

Day 2: Ouarzazate – Agdz – Draa Valley – Nkob – Rissani – Merzouga Desert – Camel Ride – Overnight in Luxury Desert Camp

After breakfast, we explore the city of Ouarzazate. First, we visit the Atlas Studios, where several famous movies were filmed. Then we tour the Kasbah Taourirt, an ancient fortified clay castle. Next, we head to Agdz and drive through the Draa Valley, Morocco’s longest river, stopping along the way to admire panoramic views of palm groves, spectacular kasbahs, and Berber villages. Free time for lunch in Nkob or Alnif.

After lunch, we continue toward the Sahara Desert in Merzouga, passing through Rissani. Upon reaching the Erg Chebbi dunes, we switch to camels to cross the desert, with a stop atop a high dune to watch the magical sunset. We then arrive at the camp, a blend of traditional nomad tents and luxurious hotel comfort. At the camp, you can enjoy Berber drum music and dance around the fire under a starry sky. Dinner and overnight stay at the camp.

Day 3: Merzouga Desert – Rissani – Erfoud – Todra Gorges – Boumalne Dades

Wake up early to enjoy the beautiful sunrise in the middle of the desert. Free time for breakfast, then return by camel to Merzouga, where the driver will be waiting. Depart the desert to visit the city of Rissani, the ancient capital of Tafilalet, still an important commercial center with a bustling souk on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Sundays.

After strolling through Rissani’s souk, continue to Erfoud to visit a fossilized marble workshop. Then drive through the palm groves of Touroug and Tinjdad to reach the Todra Gorges. The Todra River has carved a large canyon between the mountains, with tall red cliffs ideal for climbers. Free time to explore the gorges and admire the stunning landscape. Lunch on your own at a local restaurant. Continue to the Dades Valley, passing through Boumalne Dades, with stops at the “Monkey Fingers” rock formation and a viewpoint over the valley. Dinner and overnight at a hotel.

Day 4: Dades Valley – Valley of the Roses – Skoura Palm Groves – Amridil Kasbah – High Atlas Mountains – Marrakech

On the last day of the 4-day tour from Marrakech, we continue to Kalaa Magouna to visit the Valley of the Roses. Every May, the Rose Festival is celebrated here, where locals offer rose products such as perfumes, rose water, oil, and cosmetics. Then we drive past several Kasbahs, including the Amridil Kasbah surrounded by the Skoura palm groves. Upon arrival in Ouarzazate, there is free time for lunch in the city. Afterwards, we continue towards Marrakech, crossing the Tizi-N-Tichka Pass and the High Atlas Mountains. Finally, transfer to your accommodation or airport in Marrakech. End of the tour.
