Day 1: Arrival in Tangier – Chefchaouen

Welcome at the airport or port and transfer to Chefchaouen, one of the most charming cities in Morocco. A holy city with a dozen mosques and shrines, it is a lively city with cobbled streets leading to a series of shaded squares. Dinner and overnight at the Riad.

DAY 2 : Chefchaouen - Ouazzane - Volubilis - Meknes - Fez

After breakfast, enjoy some free time to explore the city and take photos, then depart for Meknes, crossing the Rif Mountains and enjoying the beautiful landscapes before arriving at Volubilis, the ancient Roman ruins dating from the 3rd century BC. Visit the site and continue onward.

In Meknes, Morocco’s fourth imperial city, founded in the early 17th century by Sultan Moulay Ismail, we will visit the magnificent gates Bab El Mansour and Bab Lakhmiss, the royal stables of Hri Souani, and the Mausoleum of Moulay Ismail. After the visit, continue to Fez, a beautiful city founded in the 8th century. Fez is the oldest of Morocco’s imperial cities, with a medina that transports visitors to the 13th century, streets full of artisans, and activities reminiscent of ancient guilds, blending with farmers who have fled drought in recent years.

Day 3: Guided Cultural Tour in Fez

Free day in Fez, an ancient imperial city and one of the highlights of this tour. Fez is the jewel of the Arab world, a place full of remarkable experiences. Here, as in Florence or Athens, travelers seek the treasures of a civilization—the inexhaustible richness of a generous and diverse life, under the sun. Sensuality, colors, and flavors abound. Fez truly has it all. Here, no one knows where the pleasures of the mind end and the senses begin. With the refinement of its palaces and the vibrancy of daily life, Fez invites a multifaceted journey. The ancient madrasas, beautiful fountains, and art museums allow you to fall in love with the city, not forgetting the mosaic and Zellij workshops, a signature of Fez.

Day 4: Fez – Ziz Valley – Merzouga

After breakfast, travel through the Middle and High Atlas Mountains, crossing rivers and palm groves inhabited by traditional semi-nomadic Berber communities. Along the way, pass through Ifrane, known as the “Switzerland of Morocco,” and then the cedar forests of Azrou, where you can see the Berber monkey colony.

Leaving the bustle of the big cities behind, you will pass through tranquil villages dedicated to agriculture and pastoralism. Stop in Midelt for lunch, then continue to the Ziz Gorge and its palm-filled valley. The landscapes of the Ziz Valley herald the approach of the desert. Arrive in Er-Rachidia and finally in Merzouga in the afternoon. Dinner and overnight at a hotel at the foot of the dunes.

DAY 5: Merzouga - Erg Chebbi

Breakfast at the guesthouse, then departure along one of the “Paris-Dakar” routes. Cross the other side of the dunes, visiting the Merzouga and Tissardmine oases, nomadic lands, MIFISS mines, and desert sands before reaching the village of Khamlia, inhabited by a black population from Mali.

Stop for tea accompanied by the sounds of castanets and drums, then return to the hotel for lunch. Free time until the camel ride across the vast golden sands to enjoy the sunset and the spirit of the desert under a starry sky. Dinner and overnight in nomad tents at the desert camp.

Day 6: Merzouga – Rissani – Todra Gorges – Dades Gorges

Breakfast. Explore around Erg Chebbi, an expanse of sand featuring Morocco’s tallest dune, over 250 meters high, along the route of the old Paris-Dakar and near the mountains bordering Algeria. Stop at the Tissardmine oasis and visit a nomad camp to learn about their life and customs.

Then, enjoy a panoramic stop to take in the full view of Erg Chebbi. Stop in Khamlia, a village originally settled by people from Mali, for tea accompanied by a small Gnawa music performance. Return to the lodge for lunch, followed by a 1.5-hour camel ride to the foot of the Great Dune, immersed in the desert sunset. Overnight in a Haima in the heart of the desert under a spectacular starry sky.

Day 7: Dades Gorges – El-Kalaa M’gouna – Skoura – Ouarzazate

After breakfast, depart for Ouarzazate through the Valley of a Thousand Kasbahs, then continue through the Rose Valley to the Skoura palm grove, famous for its kasbahs, including Amridil, featured on old 50 Dirham notes. Skoura is the first stop along the Dades road toward Kelaat M’Gouna, the Dades Gorges, Boumalne, and the Todra Valley—an area renowned for its oasis architecture.

Arrive in Ouarzazate, stop for lunch, and visit Kasbah Taourirt, built of earth and part of the town of the same name. This strategic complex sits at the confluence of the Dades and Ouarzazate rivers, forming the Draa River, and historically served as a crossroads for ancient caravan routes.
