DAY 3: Tetuan - Chefchaouen - Fez
Departure for Fez via Chefchaouen and Ouazzane. In the heart of the Rif Mountains awaits the beautiful Chefchaouen with its shaded squares, sloping cobbled streets, and painted houses. Visit Chefchaouen: blue-painted houses, lively squares, and sloping streets—the best way to experience this holy city is on foot, absorbing its atmosphere. A special charm can be found in Outa El-Hammam Square in the cobblestone medina. From a café terrace, admire the magnificent view of the Great Mosque of Tarik-Ben-Ziad, whose octagonal minaret is inspired by Seville’s Torre del Oro. This Andalusian-style architecture is also seen in the kasbah and its gardens, in the heart of the medina. Its walls and eleven battlemented towers, including a dungeon, house an interesting ethnographic museum.
In the afternoon, explore Ouazzane, a 17th-century holy city with walls and an important pilgrimage site. Arrival in Fez at the end of the day. Check-in at the hotel and dinner.
Day 4: Fez City Tour
Visit Fez, the spiritual capital of Morocco. Explore Fes El Bali (the old city) and its historic monuments: the Al-Attarine Madrasa, the Qarawiyyine Mosque—one of the oldest universities in the world (9th century), the Nejjarine Fountain, the tanneries, and the souks. Lunch in an ancient palace in the medina. In the afternoon, visit Fes El Jedid (the new city), its enclosure, and the Royal Palace.
DAY 5: Fez - Volubilis - Meknes - Rabat
Continue to Moulay Idriss, the holy city of Morocco’s first sultan, and the ancient Roman city of Volubilis. Arrival in Meknes, the capital of Moulay Ismail (18th century). After lunch, visit El Hedim Square, the monumental gates Bab Lakhmiss and Bab Mansour—among the most beautiful in Morocco—the royal stables, and the Mausoleum of Moulay Ismail. Then continue to Rabat, Morocco’s political capital, to explore the Royal Palace Square, the Kasbah of the Oudayas, Hassan Tower, and the Mausoleum of Mohammed V. Check in at the hotel and dinner.
DAY 6: Rabat - Casablanca - Marrakech
Departure for Casablanca, the economic capital and main port of the country. Discover the residential district of Anfa, United Nations Square with the kingdom’s main institutions, Boulevard Mohamed V with its Art Nouveau gems, the corniche, and the grand Hassan II Mosque. Then continue to Marrakech. Check in at the hotel and dinner.
Day 7: Guided Tour of the City of Marrakech
Day dedicated to discovering the “Pearl of the South.” Among its highlights, visit the Menara Gardens and the Koutoubia Mosque (12th century), known as the “Booksellers’ Mosque” due to the former manuscript souk, where the Saadian tombs from the 16th-century dynasty are also located. In the afternoon, explore the medina, the historic heart of the city, where you can stroll through the famous Jemaa El Fna (a UNESCO World Heritage site) and discover the colorful souks, tanneries, blacksmiths, leather cutters, and other merchants. Dinner at a riad in the heart of the medina.
Day 8: Marrakech – Full-Day Excursion to Essaouira
Full-day excursion to relax on the Atlantic coast with its maritime atmosphere and local craftsmanship.
After breakfast, depart for Essaouira, a charming 18th-century Portuguese port city, fortified according to the designs of the French engineer Vauban. Today, the city is home to many artists. Essaouira’s artisans are renowned for their woodwork, ranging from small souvenirs to furniture and artworks.
